The different locations can be reached with a 2 to 6 hour vehicle ride depending on the camp, making it possible to hunt different camps on the same safari. 2 ½ hours north of Port Elizabeth airport along the Indian Ocean. This area has 25

indigenous species available ranging from the huge cape eland to the dainty blue duiker.

Accommodations consist of a very nice lodge with entertainment area and trophy room or 4 private en suite cabins. The chef prepares your trophies of the day into fine meals accompanied with traditional South African wines or beverage of your choice.

The Stormberg Mountain camp, located 2 hours north of the Bavianns Lodge, consists of a very nice home built in the 1800’s at a 6000-foot elevation.  These mountains can get snow in the winter months and are home to monster Vaal Rhebok along with indigenous plainsgame, duck and bird hunting over dogs is also available. Hunters are met at the Port Elizabeth airport for both the Stormberg Camp and the Baviaans River lodge.

His northern area is the Umkomaas River Valley Conservancy in the KwaZulu Natal

Province, located only 1 ½ hour drive from the Durban airport. It is made up of 150,000 private acres and is the best free-range spiral horned area in all of South Africa. Lodging is the more classic, but luxurious, tent camp along the Umkomaas River, where they have 4 en suite private tented cabins with indoor and outdoor showers and internet/phone service. This camp has taken southern kudu up to 64 inches, bushbuck over 18 inches, trophy quality nyala along with other indigenous plainsgame including eland, waterbuck, wildebeest, common reedbuck, impala, oribi and others. Hunters going to the Umkomaas River Camp are picked up at the Durban airport.

Bowhunters or muzzleloader hunters are welcome and hunting methods include walk and stalk during morning hours, while blind sitting in the afternoons.

They also offer day trips for non-hunters at $350 per guide and this includes a vehicle and the cost can be split amongst passengers. These are exclusively for your group, no mixed parties.  Close by are national parks, Big-5 game reserves and they also have a house on the Indian Ocean for your pleasure. These are malaria free areas.  Price is $400 per day guided 1x1 or $300 2x1 and observers are $185 plus 14% tax on day rates. HCU’s Scott Steinkruger has hunted with this operation. Hunt SAAP.
