ZAMBIA SAFARIS IN THE NORTH LUANGWA VALLEY

This PH has been in the hunting business for over 25 years and was partially responsible for the closing and reopening of Zambia in 1993 when they were awarded this game rich remote area located in northeastern Zambia. This is untamed Africa and it falls under 2 game management areas that borders the North Luangwa Game Park and is divided by the Luangwa River. They also have an area in the Bangweulu Swamps that borders the Congo for Zambezi sitatunga, black lechwe, tsessebe and oribi.

They have 6 lion and 6 leopard permits and last year one hunter failed to take his lion and all scored on leopard. In 2010 success was 100% on both lion and leopard. In 2009 they were 5 for 6 on lions and 6 for 6 on leopards. The unsuccessful lion hunter missed. They take close to 20 buffalo per year and the average bull measures between 39 and 40 inches. Top bulls taken normally go 45 inches or better.

Traditional camps with thatched grass walls and roofs, cement floors, toilets and hot showers. Camp has solar energy and each hunter has their own room attendant to take care of personal needs. Hunters fly into Lusaka and take a 2 hour flight to base camp for $4,800 and this is mainly for classic safaris. They can sometimes arrange a scheduled flight plus charter hop for 2 buff hunters at $3,500 round trip. Observer rates are $250 per day. Hunt ZMVH.
