IN
MAINE
ONLY $2100
This may be the most exciting bear hunt out
there and is typically very high success. Last fall his 15 hunters
tagged 11 bruins, with the two biggest weighing over 400 pounds and the
average was 225. In the fall of 2010 he had 23 hunters take 20
bears on these hound hunts starting the third week of September and all
of October. The average bear taken is a very respectable 200
pounds and the big ones can get up over 350 pounds.
They have 14 highly trained
hounds coupled with very experienced handlers. You will get to
participate in the hunt by helping your guide handle the dogs.
They use state of the art telemetry tracking equipment. Hunters
have the opportunity to size up the bear with the help of an experienced
guide and you are under no obligation to shoot a bear that does not meet
your standards. October hunters can pack a shotgun for grouse at
no extra charge.
