2012 spring produced 7 boars for 7 hunters over the course of three hunts. Bears squared from 8-foot to 9-foot 3 inches.
2011 spring was late creating a tough first hunt since so few bears were out early. The outfitter went 0 for 2. Second hunt went 1 for 2, but the unsuccessful hunter passed. The third hunt went 3 for 3 and the best boar squared just over 9-foot.
2010 proved to be a more normal year for success as he was 100% for his 7 hunters, including 5 that squared 9-foot or better.
This outfitter takes a total of 7 hunters in the
spring starting about April 25. Two hunters on the first hunt for
9 days, since it can be tougher if
Accommodations have been on his 58-foot Hatteras with 3 staterooms, 3 toilets and 2 showers, making this a very comfortable base camp.
Price for any of the 3 hunts is $11,500 and his next
available opening is one spot for the first hunt in 2013 or a couple
spots are still open for 2014. Fly into
HCU’s Bob Wodzisz took his 9-foot 4-inch brownie in southeast Alaska on
Chichagof Island this past spring after looking over several bears
daily.
