Brown Bear
Hunt BR46
HUNT
SOUTHEAST ALASKAN BROWNIES
OFF 58-FOOT YACHT ONLY $11,500
Last spring was late creating a tough first
hunt since so few bears were out early. He went 0 for 2. Second
hunt went 1 for 2, but the unsuccessful hunter passed. The third hunt
went 3 for 3 and the best bear was over 9-foot.
2010 proved to be a more normal year for success as he
was 100% for his 7 hunters. Bears taken squared out at 9’6”, 9’2”,
3 at 9-foot, 8 footer and a 7’6”.
An extremely late cold spring in
2009 had put an end to our 100% success rate HCU customers had enjoyed
for the previous 18 years with this outfitter. He takes a total of
7 hunters in the spring starting about April 25. Two hunters on
the first hunt for 9 days, since it can be tougher if Alaska
experiences a late spring as the bears will come out later. The
second hunt is for 2 hunters, 7 days and this hunt has always produced
good numbers of bears. The third hunt is 3 hunters for 9 days and
finishes May 20.
Accommodations have been on his 58-foot Hatteras with
3 staterooms, 3 toilets and 2 showers, making this a very comfortable
base camp.
Price for any of the 3 hunts is $11,500 and his next available opening
is one spot for the first hunt in 2012. Fly into
Juneau
and take a roundtrip charter flight to the boat for $250. Non-hunters
are priced at $2,000 and we have had several hunters take their spouse
along on this very relaxing enjoyable adventure. HCU’s Cliff Graham and
Bob Wodzisz have been on this hunt.
