Hunt MS119
N.W.T. MOOSE HUNT
PRODUCES RECORD BOOK BULLS
Last fall this outfitter
took 14 moose hunters all during the rut and all 14 took massive bulls,
with the best one going 69 inches taken by HCU hunter, John Lee.
In 2010 all 11 hunters took trophy bulls, including a 71-inch bull and 3
more over 65 inches. Attention bowhunters, 2 bulls were taken with
archery gear including the pending new World Record Pope and Young bull
going 68 inches and grossing 253. In 2009 a 68-inch bull was taken
that would go 250 Boone and Crockett points putting it in the top 20
bulls ever recorded. Over the past 7 years 84 hunters have taken 84
bulls, with 100 percent success on mountain caribou, including plenty of
record book animals. This is without a doubt one of the best moose
hunts in North America.
The outfitter has recently acquired a helicopter that he
utilizes along with his bush plane to get into remote areas in his 8,000
square mile area. This area also serves as wintering grounds for big
old moose and caribou.
8-day moose hunts guided 1x1 are $18,000 plus license, tags and tax.
Mountain caribou can be added on a $4,000 trophy fee. He offers 3
consecutive hunts during the month of September. Roundtrip charter from
Norman Wells to camp is about $1,000 and this hunt normally needs booked at
least 1 year in advance.
