Moose
Hunt MS822
The outfitter owns 2 bordering concessions and no other guides or outfitters are allowed in his areas. The area is known to produce heavy massed bulls with good brow tines, but not necessarily the widest spreads. Moose numbers are experiencing a current high. He runs two 10-day hunts and the early one starts September 8 and the second hunt is September 19. We prefer the second hunt, which is closer to the rut.
Last fall he took one hunter on the early hunt and he was unsuccessful, although he did take a dall sheep. The second hunt finished 3 for 4, including a 61-inch bull taken by HCU hunter Chuck Mager. 2011 went 4 for 4, with the best going 61 inches and a hunter also took a grizzly on a trophy fee.
Two 10-day hunts guided 1x1 are $12,500 and run from
September 8 to 28. Once you have taken your bull, grizzly can be hunted
for an additional $5,000. The outfitter is well known for his piloting
skills and he acquired his areas from his father many years ago and
continues to run this personal family operation. Hunters fly into
