HUNT GOATS OFF 50-FOOT YACHT
CONTINUES 100% SUCCESS
Last year continued the unequalled success of 4
billies for 4 hunters with a 9 1/2-inch average. This is the only
boat hunt we endorse for mountain goat. Premier hunt that has been
100% success on long-haired mature billies, no small billies or nannies.
They only take 4 hunters per year and most are tagged out on the first
or second day of their hunt. When a shootable billy is spotted a
game plan is laid out and a hike up the mountain typically produces your
goat. Tree-line is at 1,500 feet and the tops of the mountains are about
2,400 feet. Cruising shoreline over an entire day hunters could
expect to see upwards of 100 goats.
This hunt takes place in
Prince William Sound.
The outfitter bases off his 50-foot yacht with 3 bedrooms, 2 baths and a
full-time cook. When you are not on the mountain pursuing goats
you will be living in comfort. He takes 4 hunters per year, 2 on
September 15 to 21 and 2 more from 23 to 30. Success has been 100
percent on billies from 9 to 10 inches and the average age is 6 to 7
years.
7-day hunts guided 1x1 are $10,500 and black bear can be added for a
$3,000 trophy fee. AT PRESS TIME THE OUTFITTER HAD JUST RECEIVED 2 MORE
GOAT TAGS MAKING A TOTAL OF 6, SO THERE ARE OPENINGS FOR 2012. Hunters
are met in Valdez,
no charter flights.
