This hunt takes place in farm country
east of
Red Deer near Stettler, Alberta.
It is known for big mule deer, whitetail and hard to believe moose.
This Zone 204 only gives out 125 permits to residents and just a few for
non-residents and the area is 40 square miles. Here they grow big
mule deer.
The 2011 season was just
ready to start when we went to print, but the archery hunt had been
completed and they took 5 bucks, 183, 3 in 170’s and a 163. In
2010 he had 8 rifle hunters take 8 mulie bucks and the top ones grossed
up to 188 Boone and Crockett. They usually take some pushing 200
inches.
6-day hunts guided 1x1 are $7,500. Nice cabin accommodations, meals,
and airport pickup in Edmonton. He also offers a 6-day combination
hunt for both whitetail and mule deer for $9,500 guided 1x1 or 10 days
for $10,500. 2010 whitetails were 100 percent success and averaged
158. License and tax is included. Very limited openings.
