We have worked with these same 2 Kansas outfitters for the last 10 years and they have properties with very high numbers of birds. Their private ranches have both rio’s and easterns. The birds are very vocal and extremely callable. Success typically runs over 95% and opportunity is even higher, however, last spring both outfitters experienced extremely bad weather with high winds, rain and snow the first of the season making the first hunt more difficult than normal. HCU consultants Bob Wodzisz and Cliff Graham have been on these properties.

One of our Kansas outfitters hosted 12 hunters last spring and they took 20 gobblers. 3-day full service hunt for $1,000 includes accommodations, cable TV and airport pickup. The outfitter is an accomplished archer and has taken the state record bird with the bow and also the number 1 osceola with archery gear. Hunters fly into Kansas City or Manhattan where they are picked up. He normally runs 3 hunts from April 9 to May 5.
