IN MUZZLELOADER AND ARCHERY
BOW $2700 MUZZLELOADER/RIFLE $3200

At press time out of his 5 September muzzleloader hunters they took a 173, 171 and a 144-inch buck.  He had 12 archers take 6 bucks including a MONSTER 196, 160, 140-inch 8-point and 3 smaller bucks.  The rifle hunts had not started.

This outfitter has 27,000 acres of some of the top private-land leases available in units 8 and 9 in northeastern Kansas.  He offers a full service guided 5-day rifle hunt for $3,950 or a semi-guided price of $3,200, which includes the same lodge accommodations, meals, property and blinds, but the hunter drives himself to and from his stand (vehicle can be provided, but you drive yourself).

In 2011 his 13 archers took 5 bucks including a 177, 171 and a 160-inch buck.  They also hit and lost 2 bucks.  Muzzleloader season went 3 for 6 with the best 2 coming in at 157 and 148.  On his gun hunts they took 13 bucks out of 18 hunters over the course of the 2 weeks.  Best bucks gross scored 176, 171, 151 and 145 inches.

6-day muzzleloader hunts are $3,950 guided or $3,200 semi-guided, when you drive yourself to and from your stand.  Kansas allows scoped in-line muzzleloaders with no limit on magnification.  Season opens mid-September.

6-day archery hunts are $3,250 or drive yourself to the stands for $2,700, remember same accommodations and meals on either hunt.  Most all of the hunters choose the lower priced semi-guided hunt.

Hunters fly into Kansas City and rent a car.  May 31 draw deadline.
