ILLINOIS/MISSOURI OUTFITTER
HUNT THEIR PERSONAL FARMS
VERY LIMITED HUNTERS
Here are a couple HCU hunters that own farms in Illinois and
Missouri
and decided to open them up to a small number of hunters last fall.
These properties have been managed for themselves including food plots,
cameras and stand placement for several years.
In 2013 on the
Illinois
property, 307 acre piece, they had 4 archers take 2 bucks, 170-inch
beauty and an 8-point just shy of 140. One archer missed a 150 and the
other saw over 25 bucks. Gun
season had not started at press time. In 2012 they took 2 archery bucks,
a 150 and 147-inch 8-point. They had 3 gun hunters take one buck
grossing over 180 inches.
November 1 to 20 archery 5-day rut hunts are priced at
$3,000. November 22 to 24 and December 5 to 7 shotgun or muzzleloader
3-day hunts are $3,000. 3 days of archery followed by 3 days of gun is
priced at $3,500. Hunters stay at a Motel 6 real close to the farm at
their own expense, about $60 per night. Meals, guide service and all
transportation during the hunt are included.
In Missouri they own a 550-acre farm that has
been managed for trophy deer. 5-day archery
hunts from November 1 to 19 will be priced at $2,500 and 5-day
rifle hunts November 16 to 20 will be $3,000. Includes lodge or cabin
accommodations, meals and guide service.
Hunters fly into Peoria or St.
Louis and rent a car.
